Looking After Someone Who Wishes He Could Do The Same
Dogs Have A Unique Place In The Family
Dogs are amazing
creatures. Calling them animals would be accurate, but can still feel unfair.
They're members of the family in a very real and immediate way. When one comes
home after a long day, everyone in the family will be happy to hear the car
pull up. But it's usually the family dog who's going to be first to the door.
Likewise he's the last to sit looking mournfully out when someone heads out for
the day. A dog's entire life is centered around his family. He'd quite
literally give anything to keep his family safe. Obviously few dogs will have
the chance to put that into effect though. Humans do have a chance to repay
that intent though. People will always be able to offer up some protection to
their dogs simply by providing food and shelter. But this is really just a drop
in the bucket when it comes to the overall dangers that a dog faces in his
life. The biggest danger to a dog is the outside world as a whole. The world
past the boundaries of the front lawn can be a dangerous place for a dog. But at
the same time being able to observe that world is quite important to a dog's
overall happiness. Most dog owners find themselves wondering if there might be
a way of balancing those two needs.
Balancing safety and
freedom
A recent invention does
offer the key to balancing freedom and safety for a dog. A hidden pet fence is
a way to tell dogs where they are and aren't allowed to go. It's a hidden
system that sits underneath the edge of one's lawn. When a dog comes near that
boundary he'll receive a signal telling him he's not allowed to go any further.
This keeps him safe from all the dangers of the world. But at the same time he
can still enjoy looking at and smelling everything which goes by.
